Volunteer yourself or someone you know to join our board
It is important that the local chapter of the ACLU reflect the many communities and concerns that live in Sonoma County. Without members of the board being from different geographic areas, lifestyles, races, religions, genders, sexual orientations and ethnic backgrounds, it is easy to miss important issues that arise in our county. A diverse board can help the ACLU organize and make civil liberties issues relevant and important to a larger population. It increases our ability to address local governments and institutions in a more powerful way. A larger board would also allow us to take on more issues.
For these reasons, we are seeking new board members. You do not have to be an attorney to contribute. Our board currently has open positions. You can help us be more effective by volunteering your time and energy. If you want to help or know someone else who might be interested, let us know. Call our hotline at 765-5005.
